The first word in Book XL is the singular word 'alleen', while the last word of the final page is the collective word 'wij'. A significant portion of the words can be interpreted as negative, particularly when placed in the context of other words. Great care has been taken in crafting the rhythm and tempo of each list of 15 words. Book XL contains 480 words, with each word appearing only once.
